Ice Swimming – A New Challenge!

I have to confess, I never thought I would be writing a blog about swimming an ice mile but then again 10 years ago I never would have believed that I would have swam 7 channel swims! Why did I do it? I have the ocean swimming to thank for giving me the confidence to […]

High Elbows BEWARE! (Avoiding shoulder injury)

One of the biggest life changing moments I found when changing my stroke technique was to stop over-head arm rotation in front crawl. Now I do a semi-circle ‘elbow push’, allowing a relaxed forearm and hand. I know this is completely different to what we were all taught. This one element of the stroke instantly took […]

It is a great way of introducing you to the channel and you may then decide to go on to do a solo! They are also a great team […]

Paddling your way to fitness!

As a strong believer in the use of your core muscles in swimming as with many other sports, Stand Up Paddle Boarding (or SUP), is another I can add to my list! On a recent trip to Portugal I had the opportunity to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding. I know from my good friend Jeremy Laming […]
